25 Years of Sculpture
Sculpture in context hosted its 25th annual sculpture exhibition at the National Botanic Gardens. Over 120 sculptures by Ireland’s leading artists were displayed throughout the gardens, ponds, Great Palm House, and Curvilinear Range, with the smaller works exhibited in the gallery above the visitors’ centre. The National Botanic Gardens is a magnificent setting for the exhibition, both nature and art fusing together to create a memorable visual experience.Receipients of the 2010 Awards
Petr Holecek was awarded the Mill Cove Galleries Award for "Is that Me"
CAST Ltd Award for a work of distinction in any medium was awarded to John Kelly for "The curious Accounts of the Imaginery Friend"
3 Sculpture in Context Awards for large outdoor works of distinction in any medium were awarded to:Jackie Ball for "Clipart"
Andrea Cleary for "Redwood Spore Drip"
Clodagh Murphy for "Arithmetic of Love"The award for the Most Popular Sculpture voted by the public was won by Betty Newman-Maguire for "Mother Earth Dancing"
